External Tournaments

Beyond the tournaments that our teams compete in annually, Moot Court Board members are encouraged to participate in external tournaments as individuals. Both second year and third year members may represent NDLS by entering the competitions that interest them.

Recent Accomplishments

2021-2022

2022 Frank A. Schreck Gaming Law Moot Court Competition: Courtney Klaus (’23), Brigid O’Keefe (’23), and Malcolm Coffman (’23) won Third Place Team, with Courtney Klaus winning Second Best Oralist.

2020-2021

2021 Stetson International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition: Ambris Saravanan (’22) and Mark Simonitis (’22) won the North American regional championship round, and were ranked one of the top 8 teams in the world.

2018-2019

2018 John J. Gibbons Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition: Olaniyi Solebo (’19), Hannah Oswald (’19), and Terence Parker (’19) won First Place Team, with Olaniyi Solebo winning Best Oralist.

2018 J. Braxton Craven, Jr. Memorial Moot Court Competition: Shannon Lewry (’18), Jonathan McCreary (’18), and Kayla Clark (’18) won Second Place Team.

2018 International Religious Freedom Tournament in Bologna, Italy: Jack Blais (’19), Megan Ball (’19), Cristina Sanchez (’19), Lawrence Wesco (’19) won First Place Team, with Lawrence Wesco winning Best Oralist.

2018 Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition: Doori Song (’19), Justin Lewis (’19), and Jake Crammer (’19) made it to the Quarterfinals, with Doori Song winning Best Brief Writer.

2017-2018

2017 Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition: Kayla Clark (’18), Hope Tone-O’Keefe (’18), Shannon Lewry (’18) won First Place Team.
